  1. This demonstration CD-ROM provides condensed versions of the programs Multimedia Career Center and Resume Express.  The demonstrations are designed to give you a detailed look at the information included in the programs and the format in which it is presented.

  3. Since this is the demonstration version of the programs, please keep in mind that certain features have been disabled.  The videos you view and the results you receive will be limited in comparison with the complete versions of the programs.

  10. System Requirements:

  12. -System 7.1 or higher  
  13. -13" inch color monitor (preferably displaying thousands of colors)
  14. -8 MB RAM 
  15. -double speed CD-ROM drive  
  16. -QuickTime 2.0 or higher

  18. -To run Multimedia Career Center or Resume Express:

  20.      Double click the Demo CD-ROM icon.  Double click the Multimedia Career Center or Resume Express icon.  The program will guide you the rest of the way.

  22. -Program Performance

If you get "not enough memory" errors or the program appears to run very slowly  or certain screens aren't displaying properly, you should quit all other applications and limit the amount of system extensions that load into memory.  You can do this by taking them out of the Extensions folder and putting them into a folder called something like "Unused extensions"; or, if you have an extensions manager, use it.

If you are running a Mac or PowerMac with 8 Megabytes of memory or less, there is some chance that you will have problems running the Demo CD-ROM.  If the background screen is white or videos do not play, turn on virtual memory in your "Memory" control panel.  The following steps should alleviate this problem.

  28. 1.  Go to the apple menu and open Control Panels.
  29. 2.  Open the "Memory" control panel.
  30. 3.  Turn on virtual memory.
  31. 4.  Restart your computer.

  35. If you have problems running the Demo CD-ROM and have tried the previously mentioned solutions, please call Customer Service at 1(800) 468-4227.  Generally, it is easier for us to work you through the problem if you have access to the computer while you are on the telephone with us.

  37. It is also helpful if the following information is available:

  39.     1.    The type of system you are running.  For example, a Macintosh Quadra using System 7.5 with 8 meg RAM.
  40.     2.    The type of CD drive you are using.  (Manufacturer and speed.)

  42. If an error has occurred on your system, note the error message received and document where in the program the error occurred.
